Marshall Tucker at Toad's, new look, same site, new CD & more to come...

Yeah...we've been busy!

I've updated the web site with a new look while I work on getting our "Web 2.0" site up and going. If we got any geeks in the audience, I plan on running "Concrete5" on the server...should be kewl!!! ;-)

We've been writing and putting down tracks for our next CD. Sorry for the time off, but it will be worth it. While we don't have a lot on the schedule right now, keep checking back...that's soon to change. You won't want to miss out on seeing us live because we're going to be testing the new tunes out at our shows.

Reminder - Make sure you're on our mailing list so we can let you know the latest on our schedule, updates about our new CD, and when the new wrb site goes live. Here's the link:

Pics from upstate NY weekend & Taste of Wallingford

Had a blast in upstate NY this past weekend, playing Northern Lights and The Herkimer Harvest Festival. Thanks to all the new fans that stopped by both. Special thanks to Sueanne of Gutsy Woman Productions for being an excellent host at the Harvest Fest! She did a top-notch job putting everything together and we appreciate it! Sunday was back to Wallingford, where we played to a lot of old fans at The Taste of Wallingford. The above slideshow features all three shows. Enjoy!

Pictures from the Durham Fair

Welcome new WRB fans!!! Thanks for coming out and rocking with us at the Durham Fair.

The Whiskey River Band would like to Thank The Durham Fair entertainment committee for asking us back for our second year at the Durham Fair. The weather didn't cooperate with Friday and Saturday shows, but it finally broke for Sunday! We took the stage (after it dried off), and kicked off the music festivities again! It was a GREAT time and we hope to get asked back again to one of the best Fair's in New England!!!

Enjoy the slide show! We hope to see you all at a show real soon!

Great time at Hubbard Park tonight!

We'd like to thank everyone who came out to Hubbard Park tonight to help us celebrate our 20th anniversary of making music. We had an absolute blast! Special thanks go out to Rich Reinwald (former sax player) and Chris Cioffi (former keyman) for their guest appearances! The responses we got tonight explain a lot of why we've done what we've done for 20 years. Your support and loyalty mean more than you know and we appreciate it!

The New WRB Shirts Are In!

The new summertime WRB tees just arrived last night!

They have the ever-popular "Got Whiskey" on the front, along with a western style star, "It's Whiskey Time" and the URL on the back. We've ordered these in the colors shown, which are pink, hot pink, kelly green and black, in sizes S-XL (up to 2XL in black). Price is $15, and until we get them onto the webstore, you can get one at any show.

Wondering what happened to the full-color shirt design that we previewed earlier? We're still planning on doing those...just not yet. We'll keep you posted as to when those are coming.

Have you been "Rolled" yet?

Ok - so this has nothing to do with the WRB, but I couldn't resist in sharing it. There's a new "thing" spreading around the 'net. It's called being Rick Rolled. Go ahead and Google it - but basically, you, the unsuspecting web surfer, is tricked into clicking a link that plays "Never Going To Give You Up" by Rick Astley. Some of the versions of being Rick Rolled involved clicking "OK" to each line of verse in the song! Anyway, the last "Rick Roll" that I got was from the Muppets. It's too cool...

People have to much time on their hands, don't they? LOL! I hope you enjoyed it. See you all at a show soon!!!

Preview of our new 2008 t-shirt design!

In addition to ordering more of the very popular "Got Whiskey?" ladies tees, we've been working on a new FULL COLOR t-shirt design for 2008. You can check out a preview here:

The front features our new band photo. If you haven't seen it up close, here it is:

In addition to our new photo, an "American By Birth, Southern By The Grace of God" banner and a barbed-wire border. The back of the shirt features a full house, along with "It's Whiskey Time!" and our web site.

If you're interested in getting on our pre-order list, send an e-mail to wrb@thewhiskeyriverband.com and let us know what size you'll need. Currently, the shirts are planned for a men's short-sleeved style, but we may consider other variations based on demand. Have any opinions or comments on the new design? Feel free to post them here or send them to the e-mail address above.

If you haven't seen our full arsenal of merchandise, check out our store. There's something for everyone: http://www.thewhiskeyriverband.com/Merch-exp.html.

Pics From Last Show of 2007 @ JC Hooks!

A great big THANK YOU is in order to everyone who came out last night to enjoy our last show of 2007 at JC Hooks! An extra thank you goes out to those of you (and there were many!) who bought us drinks, to former WRB drummer Jimmy Bossi, who sat in with us for a few tunes and most of all, to our fans. We had a great 2007 with your support and plan on bringing you lots of great music (and a new CD) in 2008!

From all of us in the WRB, we wish you a happy, peaceful and healthy holiday season and New Year! Don't forget to remember the troops who are celebrating in Iraq this year. It's because of their sacrifices that we're able to live and freely play the music that we enjoy in this great country of ours! See you all in 2008!

Internet Archive, Bands of Dixie, New Song & Last show of 2007...

WRB Posts More Material to Internet Archive

Due to the overwhelmingly positive response that we received from posting the first set of August's Middletown Motorcycle Madness show on the Internet Archive (800+ downloads!), we've posted the second set up as well. You can download it (free) at:

http://www.archive.org/details/TheWhiskeyRiverBand-Live08092007Originals

If you missed the link for the first set download, it is:

WRB Featured In France's "Bands of Dixie"

We were featured in an article in Bands of Dixie, a Southern Rock magazine in France. You can view a cover with our name upfront here (scroll down to 11/19/07):

http://pagesperso-orange.fr/bands-of-dixie/cadresindexold/indexold.htm

The magazine, website and article is in French. If you can understand French, check the Bands of Dixie website periodically. The editor usually posts interviews and articles from the issues online.

If you can't understand French, we can tell you that the article was very flattering, and that the magazine staff loves our sound and musicianship. Southern Rock is still alive and well in France!

New Songs In Progress

Wondering where we've been the last month or so? We've been hard at work, writing new material for our 3rd CD. At this point, we've got three originals nailed down. Expect to hear what we've been working on in the near future...which brings us to.....

Upcoming Show @ JC Hooks

It's been a long, wild year, and we're happy you came along for the ride! Be sure to come down to our last show of 2007, which will be at JC Hooks in Waterbury, CT on December 22nd. We'll be going on around 9:30 and will play until they send us home. We'd like nothing better than to start our holiday season with our fans, so we hope to see you there!

More from the Durham Fair

Greg's (me) got a new toy. It's called a fast Hard Disk, a smokin' Mac Pro, and iMovie '08. This doesn't suck. The nice thing is it posts right to YouTube from within iMovie. No compression settings or anything. I think the video look better than the other ones and the sound is great. Let me know what ya think.

We finally got some video for you all from The Durham Fair. This is Gypsy, the first song we played. Watch our YouTube channel for more as we get time to pull stuff off tape.

Enjoy! More updates coming soon.
